The Panama-flagged, 149,330 DWT bulk cargo ship Pos Ambition, loaded with approximately 136,550 metric tons of iron ore, ran aground in a rocky area in the Black Sea Ereğli.

Scope of the Studies
 
- On March 16, an underwater survey was conducted to determine the condition of the ship. In this survey, it was found that the lower part of the ship was heavily damaged (there were tears up to 2 m in size and damaged sections up to 50 m) and the tanks were filled with water.
- For the refloating operation, 30% of the water filled on the ship was discharged by applying compressed air and 12,869 metric tons of cargo were transferred to lighten the ship.
- The ship was also floated by the operations carried out afterwards.
- In addition to the other sea vehicles used by Omur Ship Rescue, our floating crane Hercules, our tug Pehlivan-2 and our work boat Sinbad were used in the operations.
