Scope of the Studies

With the contract signed with the insurers of Solar Europe, the debris removal operations have been undertaken by our company.
In line with the determinations made by the P&I Club and the Monitoring and Evaluation Commission before the studies started, the studies were started and the following operations were carried out under their supervision:

- Since the small amount of fuel on board at the date of the accident spread to the environment and moved away during the time until the project was undertaken, no fuel was found in the ship's tanks.

- First of all, the closed oil and paint cans that pose a risk in terms of environmental pollution and the scrap cargo found on board have been removed and delivered to the relevant institutions.

- Due to severe damage, the ship was broken into pieces underwater with chains and electrodes, as it could not be refloated. These parts were removed from underwater and loaded onto our Seka Ak-2 cargo pontoon and cut on the Seka Ak-2 in the sizes accepted by the companies to which they will be delivered.

- Survey dives were carried out by the authorities of the P &I Club and the IU Institute of Marine Sciences and Management, it was determined that there were no remains of the ship or its cargo in the area, and the debris removal and cleaning operations were terminated.

- The collected iron and steel scrap is obtained from Istanbul Maritime and Survey Services with the survey service provided by IÇDAŞ Çelik Enerji, Shipyard and Transportation San. under the supervision of customs control.it was delivered to ye and Çolakoğlu Metallurgy.

- In this project, over 150 ton mobile crane in 7 Gelba ferry over 150 ton mobile crane in Seka Ak-2 load float, Hercules, floating crane, Reis 6 trailer, tug Vega divers and underwater cutting equipment was used.

Note: During the period from the undertaking of the project to the completion, the works were suspended on some dates due to reasons such as bad weather and sea conditions, obtaining the necessary permits and performing other procedures. Dec. Since 13.09.2006, the cutting work of the ship has been started and all the works were completed on June 19, 2007.
