The Turkish flagged, 116.27 m long, 8547 GRT Ro-Ro cargo ship Hayat N sank at the exit of Bandırma Port at a depth of 20 m and 300 m off the coast shortly after leaving Bandırma Port while loaded with 73 trucks and 2 cars.

Scope of the Studies
 
- The task of performing the operation, which includes the removal and disposal of all cargo, scattered parts belonging to the ship, remaining fuel, oils and everything left on the ship as part of the removal of the wreckage of the ship, has been given to Aras & Solar Adi Partnership under an agreement signed with the P&I Club.
 
- The following operations were carried out under the supervision of the surveyor appointed by the P&I Club representative:
 
- The remaining fuel and oils on the ship have been removed.
 
- 73 trucks and 2 cars were removed from Hayat N and sold to scrap companies.
 
- The water tightness of the ship was provided by welding and patching the necessary places and the buoyancy of the ship was tried.
 
- As a result of the tests carried out, it was decided to remove the upper part of the ship by cutting and to remove the remaining part by floating.
 
- Large parts were cut from the sunken ship and these parts were removed with the Seka Ak-1 Floating Crane with a lifting capacity of 500 tons.
 
- Afterwards, this section, which was capsized and was about 90 m long, was floated and towed to a shipyard with the help of the Floating Crane Seka Ak-1in and the Tug Pegasus-3 to be rotated.
